Manuel Bicain

Buenos Aires, Argentina
He/him

The main focus of his practice as a dancer is to conceive movement as communication happening in a single shared moment — between the music, his partner, and his own body. Manuel's proposal is to treat dance as a path of constant research, discovery, and artistic happiness, drawing on a wide range of physical disciplines to find the fullest possible expression.

Dancer based in Buenos Aires. Manuel Bicaín began dancing swing nine years ago, arriving with years of training in martial arts, theater, contact improvisation, and circus arts. He also studied tap and body percussion, disciplines he remains immersed in today.

When he began delving into traditional Jazz and improvisation, he found the ideal medium to express himself and share his art with the people around him, while also discovering a path of constant research, discovery, and happiness in his artistic life. His dancing focuses on communicating in a single moment with the music, his partner, and his own body. He organized the Swingin' Festival, a Lindy Hop and Tap event featuring classes, parties, and shows.
